Structural Soils has significant experience in undertaking ground investigations for renewable energy projects in the UK, including offshore. We have completed projects for wind-farm power generation and are seeing growth in projects that cover transmission technology, biomass and energy from waste. Project types include large and small, new and replacement wind turbine schemes; biogas generation plants on agricultural sites; and small hydro weir schemes.
Our clients range from major energy producers through specialist renewable energy companies to small commercial concerns constructing one-off schemes for their own supply.
We can provide a range of ground investigation services, including foundation inspection on smaller schemes, through to deep boreholes for the larger wind turbines, including both upland sites where turbines are on rock and lowland sites where piled foundations may be needed. For more information, see ground investigation services and drilling services
Whatever your needs, we are able to offer a full range of ground investigation techniques, in-situ testing and in-house laboratory testing services. We can provide ground investigation reports to exact specifications or design bespoke investigations. We can interpret data, with reporting in various forms including digital AGS and PDF files.
As an RSK company, we are able to offer many complementary services such as environmental impact assessments, ecological and archaeological support, and foundation pull-out tests for solar parks.
