We understand that effective management of geotechnical data is increasingly critical to the successful delivery of our ground investigations. Structural Soils operates a dedicated data management team to support all elements of the business and to drive technological change to meet and exceed client expectations.
The data management team operates a fully integrated bespoke geo-information system to store and report site and laboratory data collected during ground investigations. Our experienced data managers are trained to maintain and develop this system and can tailor reports to meet contract-specific requirements.
Underpinning good data management is collaboration. We work with our clients on contracts of all sizes to ensure that systems are in place to handle ground investigation information from site collection through to delivery of the final report. Where required, our data management team will work with you to create and implement bespoke data management plans to transmit information and meet specification requirements. For very large contracts, we have a data manager on site to handle information at source.
The data management team, which is actively involved in the AGS Data Management Working Group, strongly believes that comprehensive, error-free AGS submissions in good time should be a minimum deliverable. We operate extensive AGS quality control systems to ensure submissions contain all relevant data and can import into gINT and HoleBASE SI without issues.
The team also manages and develops the Structural Soils Ground Investigation Archive System (GIAS), which allows staff to access and query an online GIS-enabled database containing over 20,000 historical ground investigation reports produced by the company since 1964. This invaluable resource enables the company to provide the best possible advice to clients at all stages of a project by utilising our vast library of reports.
