Structural Soils is well known within the water industry as the contractor of choice for high quality, safe and well-managed ground investigations in the varied and complex environments the water industry operates.
Through various asset-management programme cycles, we have worked with national utility companies such as Thames Water, Welsh Water and United Utilities; with contractors and joint ventures such as Black and Veatch, MG JV and eight2O; and with special project delivery vehicles such as Thames Tideway Tunnel.
Our teams have substantial experience of the particular logistical, technical and safety challenges presented by working on sites such as operational water and wastewater treatment works, reservoirs and reservoir embankments, along pipeline routes in city centres and sensitive rural areas, and on the public highway. Many hundreds of projects procured via framework agreements, strategic supplier agreements or conventional competitive tenders have been delivered successfully.
Structural Soils scored 100% in its 2017 Achilles UVDB Verify Audit for safety, health, environmental and quality practices for both its management system and on-site assessment. Our staff are trained to meet the stringent standards expected by the water industry and hold sector-specific training such as Thames Water Safety Passports and, where relevant to our work, EUSR National Water Hygiene qualifications.
Whatever your needs, we are able to offer a full range of ground investigation techniques, in-situ testing and in-house laboratory testing services. We can provide ground investigation reports to exact specifications or interpret the data, including advice on topics such as foundations design for new treatment works structures or the disposal of waste streams generated by construction works. We can provide comprehensive digital data in the form of AGS and PDF reports.
As part of RSK, a recognised leading environmental consultancy, we are able to offer many complementary services.
